Introduction

Strange Eons is a design tool for creating custom content for board and card games. It was originally built for the Arkham Horror board game. For Arkham Horror players, Strange Eons makes it easy to create new investigators, Ancient Ones, monsters, items, allies, and other custom content—even whole new "big box" expansions. For players of other games, there is a small but growing base of support. Plug-in authors can add nearly any kind of game component imaginable.

Some Features

• Dedicated editor lets you concentrate on game design: it does the math, rule-checking, spell-checking, layout, and typesetting. Created cards closely mirror official components.
• Simple image importer automatically scales and rotates portraits to fit on cards and tokens. Just pick the image file. You can even grab an image right off of the Web by entering a URL.
• Design aids let you focus on being creative, and provide new ideas when you're stuck.
• Print characters directly from the program, export them as a .zip archive of .png or .jpg images, or organize them into a "deck" of related materials formatted for printing.
• Special support for large projects that span many files.

Bugs and Known Issues

Bug Database

The Bug Database provides a detailed list of both current and fixed bugs. For bugs fixed before version 3, major bug fixes are listed in the release notes for the relevant version.

Reporting a New Bug

If you have an issue that isn't already covered in the Bug Database, please report it! However, please check the FAQ and search the Bug Database before writing a report. This avoids duplication, and you might find out that your problem already has a solution.

A list of Frequently Asked Questions is maintained here. If your question is not answered there, you can post in the forums, or ask me directly. If your question is specific to a particular game or plug-in, the plug-in developer might have their own support mechanism, or there may be other places where experienced users can help. For example, Fantasy Flight's Fan Creations forum is a good place to ask about content for Arkham Horror.
