Watch your step, it's dark down here. The good news is that Miriam catalogs her
curios like an obsessed archaeologist. It's all down here... somewhere. Well, OK,
almost all. Some things are so secret that they can't even be kept in the
basement. On this page you will find collected a miscellany of secondary
material for Strange Eons. If there is a deck of cards, a tutorial, a tip, or a
hack mentioned somewhere on these pages, it should be listed here.
A sample pack of 8 investigators, created in Strange Eons.
A replacement for the Exhibit Item Deck, created in Strange Eons.
Useful and/or fun plug-ins for Strange Eons 2.
The SE Text Resource Editor is a programmer's editor that is specifically designed to work with the files used by Strange Eons. If you are writing plug-ins, working on a translation, or otherwise adding custom content to Strange Eons, it is highly recommended that you use this editor to edit your plain text files (scripts, settings files, installation notes (HTML), spelling word lists, class maps, etc.). You'll find it in the tools folder of the plug-in authoring kit.
Note: The SE Text Resource Editor is being phased out in favour of the integrated development tools in the Project system in Strange Eons. It is currently useful mainly for translation work and creating spelling dictionaries.
Video tutorials for introductory aspects of the project system: creating a project, adding a task, automatically building a deck of cards, using the plug-in task to quickly create an expansion icon.
An example of how to create a custom decorated fold-up box. The Gilman Memorial Exhibit extension must be installed for full effect, as the tutorial uses an image that is part of that extension.
A plug-in tutorial that demonstrates how to add your own custom expansion to Strange Eons by writing a simple extension.
A more complex customization tutorial that builds on the Custom Expansion example. It demonstrates how to create an extension that adds "Enemy" cards based on the existing "Ally" cards. Once you've mastered this, the plug-in kit has lots more examples to learn from.

The culmination of your training as a Strange Eons customizer, though you can also start here and refer to the other tutorials as needed. This tutorial takes you on a tour of the new DIY card system, which lets you make entirely new kinds of components instead of basing them on existing types.
A brief tutorial and condensed reference on writing case books for Arkham Investigations using the case book editor in Strange Eons.

How to get into trouble with Strange Eons mark-up. (If you want to get into even more trouble, try looking at the Servitor card example in the Plug-in Authoring Kit. Or check out what's going on in the case book library.)
Take a tour of the source-level script debugger.
Not finding what you're looking for? Have you tried the FAQ page? The tag table? The Customization page? The Translator's Guide? The documentation (sparse as it may be) in the plug-in kit?
